Karsten Berkeley Humanoid

Building your own humanoid robot from scratch. This sounds like science fiction until you are knee-deep in wires, solder, and a pile of 3D printed parts that somehow need to become a walking machine.

This showcase follows our journey with the Berkeley Humanoid Lite, an open-source sub-$5K humanoid that proves you do not need a million-dollar lab to get into robotics. What you do need is around 40 freshly printed parts, 22 motors, and a healthy tolerance for debugging at 2 a.m.

Curious how it works under the hood? Take a look inside the 3D-printed gearboxes, explore the system up close, and take control of the robot yourself via joystick. You can also dive into the simulation and see firsthand how policies transfer from sim to real - and where the gap still remains.
